Data Science Intern

About the Role

At Agentic Academy Labs, we’re on a mission to make AI development accessible to every student in India, teaching hands-on skills with LLMs, modern dev frameworks, and real-world AI tooling. As a Data Science Intern on our Engineering team, you’ll work directly with our product, education, and engineering teams to turn raw user and product data into actionable insights that improve both our platform experience and student learning outcomes. This fully remote role is perfect for students who love digging into data, building intuitive dashboards, and using analytics to solve real problems for thousands of learners across the country.

What You Will Do

• Write, optimize, and debug complex SQL queries to pull data from our product database, learning management system, and user engagement platforms, ensuring accuracy and performance for all analysis use cases.
• Build, maintain, and iterate on interactive dashboards (using tools like Metabase, Looker, or Tableau) to track core metrics including student course completion rates, AI feature adoption, learning outcome success rates, and product feature performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and curriculum teams to translate high-level business questions into structured analysis: for example, identifying high-drop-off course modules, measuring the impact of new AI tooling on student project success, and surfacing insights to improve learning paths.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis and A/B test evaluation to measure the impact of new product features and curriculum updates on student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Document data models, analysis workflows, and dashboard logic to make insights accessible to non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
• Contribute to building scalable data pipelines for new analytics use cases as we scale our platform to serve 100k+ students by 2027.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.Tech / B.Sc / M.Sc in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field, with graduation year 2026 or 2027.
• Proficiency in SQL, including experience writing complex queries with joins, aggregations, window functions, and subqueries.
• Familiarity with at least one data visualization tool (Metabase, Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar).
• Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to break down vague business questions into structured, data-driven analysis.
• Basic understanding of core statistical concepts including hypothesis testing, correlation vs. causation, and A/B testing fundamentals.

Learning Goals

By the end of your internship, you will:

• Master end-to-end data analysis workflows, from raw data querying to delivering actionable, stakeholder-friendly insights.
• Build proficiency in dashboard design and data storytelling, learning to translate complex metrics into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical teams.
• Gain hands-on experience working cross-functionally with product and education teams to drive data-informed decision-making in a fast-paced startup.
• Learn to measure and evaluate learning outcomes and product impact for an edtech platform serving a large, diverse user base.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience using Python (pandas, numpy) for data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
• Prior experience working with SaaS or edtech product data, or familiarity with learning management system (LMS) metrics.
• Knowledge of LLMs, AI tooling, or experience building projects with AI frameworks.
• Experience designing and evaluating A/B tests for product or curriculum changes.
