QA / Testing Intern

As a QA / Testing Intern on our Engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that every feature we ship is reliable, intuitive, and ready for our learners.

This is a hands-on internship where you will work alongside engineers and product teams to validate quality across both manual and automated testing workflows. Whether you are exploring a new feature for the first time or writing test scripts that run in our CI pipeline, your work directly impacts the experience of thousands of students.

What You Will Do

• Perform manual testing across web and platform features, including exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues.
• Create, execute, and maintain test cases and test plans aligned with product requirements and user stories.
• Write clear, detailed bug reports with reproducible steps, screenshots, and severity classifications.
• Assist in building and maintaining automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand feature scope and define acceptance criteria.
• Participate in release quality reviews, smoke testing, and regression cycles before each deployment.
• Track and report testing metrics, including test coverage, defect density, and escape rate.
• Contribute to the improvement of our overall QA processes, documentation, and testing best practices.

Preferred Start Date

We are looking for interns who can begin immediately or within two weeks of selection and commit for a minimum of three months.

Compensation

Stipend will be discussed based on experience and commitment level during the interview process.

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test case design, regression testing, and bug tracking.
• Familiarity with bug reporting tools such as Jira, Linear, or GitHub Issues.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies, UI glitches, and logical errors.
• Clear and effective written communication skills for documenting test results and defects.
• Willingness to learn automated testing tools and frameworks relevant to our tech stack.
• Comfortable working in a remote, asynchronous environment with minimal supervision.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Learning Goals

• Gain hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.

Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience with API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured.
• Exposure to performance testing concepts or tools.

• Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, or Java for scripting and automation.
• Experience with mobile app testing on Android or iOS platforms.
• Understanding of accessibility testing standards and web usability guidelines.
