LLM (Large Language Model) Intern

This internship role focuses on large language model (LLM) development, testing, and deployment, paired with opportunities to deliver technical AI/ML training to students and early-career technology learners. Selected interns will support end-to-end LLM workflows including dataset curation, model fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and performance evaluation for real-world generative AI use cases. A core responsibility of the role is leading interactive, hands-on AI/ML training sessions for learner cohorts, covering foundational and intermediate topics such as Python programming, core machine learning algorithms, end-to-end model development pipelines, and practical LLM application building. Interns will also provide 1:1 guidance to students working on capstone AI projects, troubleshoot code and model performance issues, and contribute to creating accessible, beginner-friendly learning materials for the AI education community. The position offers dual exposure to cutting-edge LLM engineering and technical mentorship, making it ideal for candidates seeking to build practical generative AI skills while sharing technical knowledge with emerging talent in the field. Interns will work with cross-functional teams of AI researchers and technical educators, with flexible scheduling options available to accommodate academic commitments.

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related technical discipline
• Proficiency in Python programming, with hands-on experience using core ML and data science libraries including NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch/TensorFlow
• Foundational understanding of large language model architectures, fine-tuning methodologies, and prompt engineering best practices
• Prior experience (academic, personal, or freelance) building, testing, or evaluating ML models, with exposure to LLM use cases strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to beginners and non-technical audiences
• Interest in technical education or mentoring, with prior experience leading workshops, tutoring, or facilitating technical learning sessions a plus
• Availability for 20–40 hours per week for a minimum 3-month internship term, with flexibility to accommodate academic schedules
