DATA SCIENTIST - INTERN

About the Role

Matsci Ai is seeking a motivated Data Scientist Intern to join our growing data science team. This is a fully remote position open to candidates with 0-1 years of experience who are passionate about applying machine learning and statistical analysis to real-world problems. As an intern, you will work closely with senior data scientists and engineers to build, evaluate, and deploy predictive models that drive product decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing from diverse sources.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns and insights.
• Develop and test machine learning models using Python (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
• Participate in model evaluation, hyperparameter tuning, and validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into production pipelines.
• Document methodologies, experiments, and results clearly.

• Pursuing or completed Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Solid understanding of statistical concepts (hypothesis testing, regression, probability).
• Hands-on experience with ML libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy).
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and Jupyter notebooks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Prior internship or project experience in data science is a plus.
